baby bins and baskets

I've been itching to get progress made in the nursery!  The crib should arrive within the next two to three weeks.  Since my crib is gray and I am planning to do a contrasting gray paint on the walls, I can't pick out the paint without the crib.  A friend of mine sold me her changing table and I plan on painting that too, but you guessed it, I need the crib!

Since my large projects are taking a backseat for a while, I've  been doing a lot of shopping for accessories, especially visiting Land of Nod quite frequently.  This weekend they were having a 20% sale on their bins and baskets - just perfect considering I needed some for the nursery!

The main accent color in the nursery is orange.  I loved these metal locker baskets to use on the two shelves of the changing table.

These precious burlap numbered baskets were my first choice for the changing table shelves, but the height of them would not allow easy access.  I ordered 3 of them anyways!  I have a feeling we will be able to find a use for them somewhere in the room.

I just think this is the cutest laundry basket and perfect fit for the room!  I ordered the basket on the far right and as funny as it sounds, I can't wait to fill it up with dirty laundry (I HATE DOING LAUNDRY!)!

If you need some cute bins or baskets, check out Land of Nod, but do it quickly...the sale ends today!

nursery inspiration

Now that we know that Baby Kelly is a boy my mom and I have been in full nursery mode!  We've searched the internet high and low for ideas for Baby Boy's rustic nursery.  This weekend we had the best Mother's Day weekend shopping for the nursery and ordered a crib and rocker and are patiently waiting for them to arrive.

I do believe I have looked at every possible crib made and keep coming back to this Hudson Crib made by Babyletto.  I just love the light gray color and the simplicity of it.

My rocker was custom order in a soft, orange fabric so while I'd love to show you, you will have to wait :)

We are going for the rustic look in the nursery with deer being our main source of inspiration.  If you know my husband, you know he is an avid deer hunter and I currently have sixteen deer mounts throughout my house!  So, this theme fits perfectly for the new little tot.  Here are a few other things I love that are giving me inspiration for the room:

Once the crib and rocker arrive we will pick paint colors and start getting the nursery put together!  Until then, I have a few little projects for the nursery that I need to work on.  I better get busy...good thing we only have 11 days of school left!

baby kelly is a...

We found out last Wednesday that our sweet baby is a BOY!  I was certain we were having a girl, but Tuesday night I didn't sleep a wink because I dreamed about boys all night.  I woke up and told Matt that we were having a baby boy...I just knew it!  His heart rate was 145 and he weighed 8 oz :)

The day before my doctor's appointment my class took a vote on what the baby was.

It's a little hard to see, but those little kids were right!  More students chose boy over girl.  They were so happy when I showed up Thursday morning wearing BLUE!

After our appointment we had lunch with our parents and it was a sad moment when my parents had to head back to Texas, but that didn't quite stop my mother-in-law and I!  We headed over to Baby Gap and baby boy got his first batch of precious little clothes.

Before my parents left town, they gave Matt and I our congratulatory gifts - one for each of us.

So fitting, don't ya think???  I have a feeling he will be hearing a lot more of the Aggie tunes than Razorback!  Although Matt may think otherwise :)

We have just about narrowed down baby boy's name, but haven't finalized it yet.  I think that's going to happen VERY soon!  I just can't stand him not having his own little name.
