This morning I did a Pampered Chef party for a dear friend of our family at her church. The party was a fundraiser for their women's group to raise money for the church. She decided on the Ham and Cheese Calzone and it was a big hit with all the ladies! It's a new twist on hot ham and cheese.
Ham and Cheese Calzone
2 tbsp mayonnaise
2 tsp Dijon mustard
1 cup fresh broccoli florets
1 8 oz. sliced smoked deli ham, diced
1/2 small onion, diced
8 oz. Swiss cheese, grated
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 pkg refrigerated pizza crust
1 oz Parmesan cheese, grated
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Combine mayonnaise, mustard, broccoli, ham, onion, and half of Swiss cheese. Mix well. Lightly brush Large Bar Pan with 1 tsp of vegetable oil. Unroll one package of dough onto bottom of pan, gently stretching and pressing dough to cover bottom. Sprinkle with remaining Swiss cheese. Spoon ham mixture over cheese. Unroll remaining dough directly over filling, matching edges of dough and shaping to fit as dough is unrolled. Press edges to seal. Brush remaining oil over dough. Make 12 slits in three rows of four each into top crust.
Bake 14-16 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and return calzone to oven. Bake 2-3 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust is deep golden brown. Slice and serve.
**The Large Bar Pan is a Pampered Chef Stoneware product. You can use a baking sheet if you don't have the bar pan. Good time for you to order one :)
**The recipe serving size is 8 servings, but that is with large pieces. I cut the calzone in smaller pieces and it served more.
