butt kicking

Kindergarten has kicked my butt.

You would think that I could handle fifteen five year olds.  I mean, I'm 26 years old, I taught a wild insane class last year, and come on...they are FIVE.

Puuuuuhhhlease.  Exactly...THEY ARE FIVE. And there are fifteen of them.

The Thursday that we started I came home, plopped on the couch, and didn't rise until 9 PM and that was to go to bed.  Friday I was a little better.  Saturday morning comes and you would have thought I had gotten run over by ten trains.  HOLY MOLY. I'm not sure I've ever been so tired in my life.

Don't get me wrong, they are all sweet, but they keep me on my toes.  One student had to go to the bathroom.  I walk in the bathroom and he is standing at the light switch flipping it on and off with his shorts around his ankles.  He was having the time of his life.  Another decided it would be cool to stand on top of the lunch table Friday.

I wish I had a story for today, but unfortunately I missed today due to illness...believe me, I'd rather have been at school.  I spent most of my afternoon yesterday in the ER because I had severe severe severe ear pain.  Couldn't handle it.  Come to find out I have an external canal infection in both ears, closed ear holes, and scarring on my ear drum.  I was feeling GREAT.  Got some drops, but it didn't seem to do the trick.  I took Motrin PM last night and went to bed with heating pads on both ears.  Woke up this morning in extreme pain...no way I could go to work.  I went back to the doctor today and got some steroid pills to ease the pain.  Thank you Lord.  The last time I had an ear infection was when I was 4 and honestly I really just don't remember, but I will now sympathize with all those little children with ear infections.  I FEEL YOUR PAIN!  The farmer has been good in taking care of me...and my dear friend Liz who drove me to the hospital.  Much love.

Since it's been so long since I've blogged, a few things.

#1 Mom called one day.  She had been to buy her some TOMS.  Guess she took advice from her daughter...smart lady.  She bought red, burlap, and black.  I need black, but she said they didn't have them in my size...always thinking of me...how thoughtful :)  Since there were no black she bought me plum.  Can't wait for my plum shoes!

#2 I bought myself a "starting back to school, you are now teaching Kindergarten" gift.

Loved the bracelet when I spotted it at The Full Moon, the cutest little shop in LR.  And yes, I did buy the W instead of the M, but no pictures have a W...never...W is odd.

#3 I loooved Megan's new iphone cover that she bought.  I bought a new one too, but it's not as cute.  I find myself always dropping my phone...bad Whitney...and I always thought I needed an Otter Box, but always hated how they were so bulky.  Well, they have a slim one now!  It should arrive tomorrow :)

Just got a text that my kids were angels for the sub today....ahh, that makes my day!  Love my little owls :)

Ear is starting to hurt...think it's time for more meds and a little bonding with the heating pad.

Hopefully I won't stay gone too long this time...gotta suck it up...those kiddos aren't going to kick my butt!
